Presented in: 1978

In 1978 the Covini T44 Soleado was presented at the Turin International Motor Show; it is a 4wd off-roader with modular flat interchangeable body-panels, powered by a turbocharged diesel engine. The design, patents and prototype where bought in 1980 by the motor company VM Motori S.p.A. of Cento (near Ferrara), on behalf of Finmeccanica, to be produced within the group (by Alfa Romeo). The bankruptcy of Alfa Romeo in 1982 killed plans for a production run. In 1994 the prototype was bought by a body shop in Castel S. Giovanni.

Some technical experiments by the company GMC of Mario and Giuseppe Vercesi, that builded a lot of parts of mechanics and chassis.
